With more than 700 islands, islets, reefs and cays, French, British, Spanish, Dutch and North American influences intermingle with friendly local charm in this most cosmopolitan of destinations. We recommend the British Virgin Islands for the enchanting bay of Tortola, the beautiful isolation of Peter Island, Anegada and the delightful Baths beach in the Island of Virgin Gorda. The rich and famous have made St Barth’s the epicentre of Caribbean nightlife with its luxurious villas and colonial palaces. Heading further southwards, Anguila and Antigua offer quiet sandy white beaches, crystal clear water, and perfect places for surfing such as High Moon Bay and Green Island for water sports. The three ports of Antigua are also a perfect yachting sojourn. To round off, we suggest the tiny paridisal volcanic island of St Lucia, where Atlantic and Caribbean seas meet.
